Making Snow Ice Cream

This week we had a fresh snowfall and decided to make "Easy Ice-Cream Snow." Since I grew up in Southern California, I had never sampled this treat before so I was suprised at how easy it was to make. We mixed 4 ingredients in a bowl (Miriam, my faithful kitchen helper really enjoyed whisking them together): 1 cup of milk, 1 egg, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Then we used our big bowl of fresh snow to add snow to the ingredients.
It really looked like ice cream when we were done and was quite tasty!

Both kids thought it was especially tasty with Chocolate Syrup:-)

  1. Growing up in North central WI I have never sampled this treat. Hehe! But after Kate watched you video we'll probably have to do it soon.

  2. We made snow cream when I was growing up. Not sure how my mom knew to make it (she's from S. Central Tx), but she would make it for us. I made it this year since we have a foreign exchange student living with us, and he'd never had it. (Not much snow where he's from!) My recipe: a bowl of snow, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and some vanilla. Very good!
